Welcome to Electric Parts Center
Electric Parts Center was established in 1963 in Santa Barbara, California as a parts distribution center that specialized in industrial, facility maintenance controls and equipment. Even as a small business, Electric Parts Center was awarded blanket purchase contracts from the City, County, State and Federal Government Agencies for supplies and equipment; and acted as an expeditor and distributor of emergency acquisitions for these agencies. Susan Shearer became the third owner of Electric Parts Center in 2019.
About the owner
I was born in Santa Barbara to Robert Placencia and Helen K. Mills. My dad was born and raised in Goleta near the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport. When the airport expanded and took over part of the family property, the road was named “Placencia Street.” My mom was raised in Carpinteria. She is the daughter of George and Margaret Mills, owners of Mills Drugs Store from 1947 until 1993, when the building was demolished to expand the intersection. On the remainder of the property there is a park dedicated to my grandmother, former city councilmember and Carpinterian of the Year.
I moved to Ventura in 1976 and have lived in Ventura County ever since. I am married to Ronnie Shearer and he has been in the electrical industry for 30 years. We have two beautiful daughters, Chelsea and Jenna. We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, beach camping, going to Dodgers games and working on our house.
My professional work experience includes inside sales, accounting, operations, training, management and AS9100 auditing.
